A Brief History:
The Railway Mafia were formed in 1998. They are a crazy bunch of characters from all over the town. Only a small number of them actually hail from the railway estate. The railway estate is referred to by many as ‘The Red Hook Section’ of Whitby. This is due to the high crime rate and general dodginess of the estate.
Info on the players:
Adam Cummins- (17) Keeps goal for the Mafia but can also play in defence. Plays for Whitby college 6th formers.
Damian Lawrence- (18) Maverick in defence- can play midfield. Strong and often dangerous
tackler. Currently with the Army.
Ben Roe- (17) ‘BR’ is a bit of a character. His electric pace up front due to a strict diet of chips, crisps and various dairy products means he is a constant threat!
Matthew Hayes- (17) Spends most of the game taking the piss out of everyone else. In his spare time he enjoys rolling his car, hanging out at the gym and insulting people of all denominations.
Ryan Myers- (17) Another crazy guy- ‘Channy’ does most of the organising for the Mafia. Plays up front and is quick and skilful. Plays for Fishburn Park Reserves.
Danny Weatherhead- (18) He and Channy are not the best of mates. He clashed with Savo in the last game and added two goals. Talented player who has had trials with Scarborough.
Phil Prudom- (18) Tall defender/midfielder- one of the grafters of the side.
James Nelson- (18) ‘Nelly’ has the ability to kick with either foot with equal ability. He recently refused to sell his pride and joy motor to Haysey who was planning to ‘roll with it’.
Luke Dean- (17) Luke plays at full back usually and ends up doing most of the work as no-one else can be arsed.
Tom Spedding- (18) The ‘Judith’ of the side. Despite living in Castle Park the large headed one plys his trade in the mafia defence.
Chris Anderson- (18) Provides support up front for ‘Channy’. A member of the acting industry and a bit of a comic icon.
Andrew Parker- (17) Plays in defence or midfield.
